If you’re like us, you’ve been waiting to explore many of Denver’s dog friendly events in 2019. To get you and your dog on your way, the staff at Woof in Boots has compiled a list of Denver’s top dog friendly events this year that you and your four-legged friends can go out and enjoy throughout the Denver-metro area.

What: Maxfund’s 23rd Annual Chili Cook-off

Cost: Tasters $15 at the door or pre-purchase tickets here for $10 before March 23 (children 12 years and younger are only $5); Chili Entrants $30.00 per chili; register here.

Maxfund is building on a two-decade tradition, with their 23rd Annual Chili Cook-off. You can support Maxfund’s no-kill shelter by either entering your chili in the cook-off, or by being a chili taster! All proceeds will benefit the dogs and cats of MaxFund. To enter as a competitor, register here and pay the $30 entry fee. Pick from green, red, white, vegetarian, or celebrity chef categories (celebrity chefs are limited to entrants who are TV personalities, radio personalities, or restaurant chefs, and may not enter in any other category). Do you want to enter more than one chili? Sure! Just pay an additional registration fee for each chili you enter. Please keep in mind there are only 30 registration slots for chefs, so register now! Each registered taster gets to vote, so be sure to register everyone in your party.

The 2017 Weim Fest is the place to be! This is a great day to visit with fellow MHWR volunteers and supporters and enjoy time with our friends and dogs. Lousiville’s Community Park has an awesome fenced in dog park as well as a separate area that has a large water area for dogs to play in.

Join the Colorado Disc Dogs for a fun filled day of high flyin’ fun as they compete at the annual Colorado Canine Challenge. This event is considered to be the “Crown Jewel” of the Colorado Disc Dog Season. Colorado Disc Dogs is a canine “frisbee” group that hosts competitions throughout the summer all around Colorado. The Canine Partners of the Rockies is holding its 6th annual fundraising event August 12th, 2017. The event, “Bow Ties and Tails” will be held at Artwork Network in Denver’s Arts District on Santa Fe. The goal of this fund raising event, is to increase the number of service dogs who can be raised and trained annually. Come out and join over 200 supporters including outdoor enthusiasts, public officials, corporate executives, wine lovers, dog lovers, dog trainers, clients who have received a service assistance dog and the local small business community of Denver. Grab your pup and watch the Colorado Rockies take on the Washington Nationals for the annual Bark at the Park on Wednesday, August 16th. With each ticket, one dog is allowed in to sit in the specified dog zone at Coors Field. Tickets are limited and proof of vaccinations and signed waivers are required to participate in this event.

Grab your beach towel and join Woof in Boots in supporting Freedom Service Dogs for the 9th annual Doggie Plunge at Pirates Cove Aquatic Center. Hundreds of four legged swimmers taking advantage of the best pool in town! The kids are gone and the dogs run the place on this day. There will be food trucks and lots and lots of their doggie friends. In addition, each dog will be provided a PawBender ice cream treat from Goodtimes? The event will run from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. To register, click the link above and choose your two hour window of playtime in the pool. All dogs must be spayed or neutered, play well with other dogs and have proof of vaccinations.

Denver’s Furry Scurry, benefitting the Denver Dumb Friends League, is one of the most attended outdoor, dog friendly events in Denver! The walk, which takes place in Denver’s historic Washington Park, consists of over 150 vendors with plenty of activities for your dogs to participate in throughout the day. Get there early, as free parking along the park can fill up quick, and parking is restricted on Franklin St. Attendees can also park at Denver South High School and at St. John’s Lutheran Church as well as Epiphany Lutheran Church.
