It’s Thursday night. You’ve had a tough week at work and are yearning for the weekend that’s not quite in your grasp. What could possibly be better than going out to relax at a local bar with a beer in one hand? How about that same bar, that same beer, but with your four-legged best friend by your side? Denver has always been a cool town, but its assortment of dog-friendly bars kick this city up a notch. We want to share two of our favorites with you: “Bark Bar” and “Watering Bowl”.

Located at 4132 W. 38th Avenue (just off 287 / Federal Boulevard), Bark Bar is a great place to take your pet any night of the week. There’s a Happy Hour every day between 4pm and 7pm ($1 off wine, well, and draft), and the bar boasts free wi-fi, a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits, a full coffee bar, and, most importantly for your dog, a fenced-in yard for those wild, off-leash parties.
Bark Bar is open Sunday through Thursday, 10am to 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight.
This dog-friendly tavern is located at 5411 Leetsdale Drive, just a couple miles south of Colfax and east of Highway 25, perfect for those of you living close to downtown. Apart from some delicious beer (it IS Colorado, after all), this bar also has a strong selection of snacks, sandwiches, and pizzas for when you (or your pet!) get hungry, AND a huge fenced-in yard. This is also a great bar if you’re more of a night owl. Check out their late hours here.
So next time you’re craving some bourbon on the rocks, remember that you can take Spot with you and enjoy socializing with people who are just as crazy about their dog as you are. See you there!
